The birthday celebrations of KCR which is on February 17 were planned by the key leaders of the TRS party with the intention of giving an innovative and good message to the society. Rajya Sabha Member Joginapalli Santosh Kumar who has been organizing the Green India Challenge for some years have started a programme ‘KotiVrisksharchana’ for the birthday of CM KCR. The Target of this programme is to plant one crore saplings in just one hour from 10 AM to 11 AM on February 17.

As a part of this program, Tollywood Super Star Mahesh Babu his son Goutham and daughter Sitara planted saplings at their residence. Mahesh Babu took to Twitter and tweeted as "Planting and nurturing trees is one of the best ways to reduce global warming. Let's join @MPsantoshtrs' endeavour to plant 1 crore saplings on the occasion of hon'ble @TelanganaCMO KCR garu's birthday on Feb 17th!" He also asked his followers to plant saplings on the occasion of Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao's birthday.
